Chesapeake Energy (cont.)Chesapeake Energy is stepping up the promotion of natural gas as a vehicle fuel. Chesapeake just last week completed the promotional wrap of two Chevrolet C5500 shuttle buses with 8.1-liter engines converted to natural gas operation using Baytech systems installed by BAF Technologies. BAF is converting two Ford E-350s, one to be operated as a box van and one for catering services operated by Chesapeake, which has some 2,700 employees in the Oklahoma City area. The catering van is to be outfitted to provide cooking gas for barbecue events, says fleet manager Anthony Foster. Chesapeake is planning to donate a compressed natural gas bus based on the Chevrolet C5500 to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. ‘Innovative and Aggressive’ Chesapeake has two Honda Civic GX sedans and plans to buy more of the dedicated-CNG cars. |
